The ARD and IPP PROGRAMS
The ARD program is only available to first time offenders. It is designed to help clients who have no criminal record meet the stipulations placed on them because of a DUI offense.
The IPP program is available to clients who have been arrested on a 2nd. DUI. If it has been more then 10 years since your first DUI, you can have the 2nd. one counted as a 1st. Some clients who were arrested on a 3rd. DUI can be considered for the IPP program. Check with your attorney.
All clients who have been arrested on a DUI have to meet certain requirements.
1) CRN Evaluation completed at C.O.A.D. 610-363-6164 and attend the Alcohol Safe Driving Classes. A completion letter will be provided
by C.O.A.D
2) Full Drug and Alcohol Assessment and follow the recommended number of counseling sessions. Pathway Counseling Services
recommends 8 to 12 sessions depending on the outcome of the evaluation. They look at blood alcohol level, history of chronic use,
family history and other factors. A completion letter will be given to the client on their last visit and a copy will be sent to their probation

3) Community Service. Your probation officer will provide you with a list of non-profit organizations where you can complete your community
service. If you are accepted in the ARD program you can get 50 hours of community service waved by completing you drug and alcohol
counseling within 60 day following your ARD hearing.

Most clients that apply for the IPP program are able to get 15 days inprisonment and 75 days house arrest. If you refused your blood test or tested positive for a controlled substance you will be considered to be in the highest level and will have to meet the requirements of the over .16 BAC. The number of Community Service hours can vary. It will be more then 50 hours if you have another change, like under age drinking or if it is your 2nd. DUI. Pathway Counseling offers group counseling sessions 5 times a week. Clients may attend any sessions that are convenient for them.
