Grief Counseling: In grieving our loses we are able to let them go and heal the pain.  In our society we are given three days off work to bury a family member and we are expected to return to work as if nothing had occurred.  Many of us repress the sadness we feel for so long that a we can no longer identify or express our feelings.  In therapy we can access the unresolved grief and loss whether it was caused by death, divorce or abandonment.  We can process the pain of the loss of a relationship, a job or our self-respect.  This promotes healing.  To learn more about the symptoms of unresolved grief click on the grief counseling button.

Couples Counseling: One hour sessions. Most people grow up without good role models.  They never saw a healthy relationship and do not know how they work.  Understanding some of the basic differences, between men and women, allows each partner to be true to themselves and still be supportive to the other.  Even difficult issues like infidelity, addiction or abuse can be healed if both parties are willing to work through the process and let go of the past.  To learn more about some of the basic differences between couples click on the couples Counseling button.

State Board of Nursing and other Professionals: Pathway Counseling Services is a preferred provider

for the Voluntary Monitoring Program. Drew Alikakos, M.S. Licensed Psychologist facilitates a weekly

group designed for Impaired Professionals and works closely with the State Board of Pennsylvania and

stipulations placed on them by the State Board so they can maintain their license. Call (610) 269-8396

Family of Origin Issues: Issues from childhood, may be creating obstacles to getting the life you want.  Many of us were programmed to seek the approval of parents who were never quite satisfied.  You may have been raised by an overly critical mother or an emotionally distant father.  These behaviors create wounds that affect the way we relate to ourselves and others. Many adults who were raised in dysfunctional families only guess at what normal is and they feel comfortable with chaos.

Co-Dependency; Co-Dependents often feel that when a loved one fails, they've failed.  This constant "failure" can lead to a loss of self-esteem.  The uncertainty of the co-dependent's life may lead to feelings of hopelessness and helplessness.  After experiencing painful feelings for so long, many co-dependent's simply stop feeling at all.

Confidentiality:  Everything a client shares in therapy is protected by Confidentiality Laws.
